Lawsuits May Be the Only Way to Combat Trump’s New Executive Order Banning Immigrants
President Trump is expected to issue and Executive Order ceasing immigration to the United States. Even if this is signed, it will certainly be challenged either by immigration advocates, corporations and/ or private citizens.
His Executive Order would prohibit those much needed nurses, doctors, administrators and front line foreign workers from entering the United States. This Executive Order could also prohibit corporations in the United States from bringing in executive officers and essential employees to continue United States operations and manufacturing facilities. This also is not limited to those international corporations, but also local companies that rely on foreign labor including agriculture, farmworkers and the tech industry.
Filing lawsuits challenging the Executive Order on a local level may be the only way to protect these industries. It may also be the only way for those who have family overseas and are separated from being reunited.
