Federal government shutdown: impact on immigration

The shutdown of the federal government has not affected most operations at the USCIS. Interviews and appointments at USCIS remain as scheduled unless otherwise noted.
The Department of Labor’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) has temporarily suspended operations while the shutdown remains in effect. Employment-based immigration cases which require certification by the Department of Labor may be affected.
Operations at the Immigration Court have also been affected by the shutdown, but please contact your individual attorney if you have questions about the status of your hearing. Please do not make any assumptions about the status of your hearing without talking to an attorney.
