Getting a visa to enter the United States to work is not easy. There are many reasons why this is the case, and one of them is simply unable to satisfy the strict and often difficult to satisfy requirements to obtain work visas. Some of the things you can do to make it easier to obtain a nonimmigrant visa include:

  • Identify Where There Are Great US Workforce Needs. There are always going to be employers looking for workers even when U.S. unemployment levels are through the roof. If these employers cannot find workers in the United States, hiring foreign workers is an option they would pursue and do pursue, but you will have to do your homework to find these employers. Such employers may even be willing to help a foreign worker to obtain a nonimmigrant visa to work for them in the United States.
  • Look for American Employers with Experience Recruiting Foreign Workers. An employer with a history of recruiting and hiring foreign workers is more likely to hire you as a foreign worker than one who has little or none. Most employers don’t even bother hiring foreign workers because they are turned off by what they believe to be a complicated and costly exercise, but you can persuade them to go for it, especially if you have good qualifications.
  • Social Media and Online Job Search. You should follow employers on social media who are in your general area of interest. Some of these employers announce vacancies on their social media accounts. You should also utilize online job databases where employers post their open positions or look through those databases to find workers fitting what they are looking for.
