The Court ruled that the petitioner’s detention violates U.S. law under 8 U.S.C. § 2241. It found that the petitioner is being held under 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a) and is entitled to a bond hearing. The Court therefore granted the petition, ordering that by October 31, 2025, the government must either:

Provide a bond hearing before an immigration judge—where the government must prove, by clear and convincing evidence, that continued detention is justified due to danger or flight risk; or

Release the petitioner under reasonable supervision conditions.
Additionally, the Court ordered that Brandon Crowley be substituted as the respondent and that the case name be updated accordingly.
